Choice 10" Fine China Cap Strainer

I originally purchased this as a "fine" strainer. The holes are large enough to fit the lead of a #2 pencil into (1MM). The exit hole at the bottom is almost 4MM. It does work incredibly well for straining clumps from soup, gravies and sauces but it will not strain like a fine mesh. The construction was far superior to what I expected for the price, fairly heavy duty and I love the pan rest. I have put cheese cloth inside it and it holds 2 quarts of yogurt for straining easily. This is not a tiny strainer. There are some sharp edges on it so be careful washing. All in all I am very happy with it.

Highly recommend for all situations where you need a fine strainer. I have used this strainer too many times to count. It has held up to all my rigorous abuse. Cleans up easy and strainer sauces perfectly.

This strainer is seems sturdy and made to last. It is considerably more coarse that expected from the description. Because I am happy with the size and construction of the strainer, I'll keep it and use cheese cloth as needed. As usual for this site, the price is right!

This China cap is durable! It’s design allows it to hold quite a lot of food and it even has a nifty tab on the end that hooks up to most sinks for easy use.

This strainer is durable and sturdy. I will definitely have it for a long time, doesn't seem like it's gonna fall apart on me. The lip on the side makes it perfect

This is the perfect strainer for large quantities of food. It's incredibly durable and great for use with a wooden chinois pestle to strain pastes.

This little strainer is a treasure. It strains whatever you might want to separate, but this year I used it, together with a blender, for tomato sauce. I don't have time to skin and deseed tomatoes but nobody wants that in their sauce. While a powerful blender will be almost good enough, for great sauce it takes that extra step. Food mills junk up, and for me, it ends up not worth the trouble. This year I had and tried this strainer. Why not. It did such a great job on everything else, and while I looked at the machines that process tomatoes, I was not ready to spend that much. Thanks to this inexpensive strainer I didn't even have to think about it any longer. It did a wonderful job straining out the last bit of skin and seed from my blended tomatoes. Quickly, efficiently and it is very easy to clean. This is a must-have basic tool in the kitchen, right along with your knife set.

In addition to making sauces, this also works great as a regular strainer. Construction is sturdy and the handle is strong. This strainer should hold up to many years of use.
