As a two-in-one thermometer, this device features both infrared technology for no-contact surface temperatures and a 3 3/4" probe for internal temperatures. Both means of measurement detect temperatures ranging from -76 to 662 degrees Fahrenheit, and they both boast incredible accuracy. The infrared provides accurate measurements between +/- 1.1 to 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit and the probe provides accurate measurements between +/- 0.9 to 1.1 degree Fahrenheit.
The infrared technology makes the thermometer great for a variety of applications. It also offers 8-beam target illumination and a distance-to-spot ratio of 8:1. An incredible 1 second response time delivers near instant results too, which is ideal in fast-paced environments. Even the 3 second response time from the probe ensures exceptional speed to keep your business moving.
With the press of a button the device is up and running with data hold, maximum, minimum, and lock modes, and a battery status indicator. Backlit HACCP check lights show green when a temperature falls within the recommended range, and they show red when in the danger zone. This provision helps reinforce food safety practices. Plus, the BioCote anti-microbial additive prevents bacteria growth and the stainless steel probe is easy to clean. An IP54 water-resilience rating likewise protects the device from dust and splashing water.
This particular thermometer helps prolong its own battery life with a 15 second auto-off feature. It requires 2 AAA batteries, which are included for operation.
