Its clear digital display includes readout temperatures from 14 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, or -10 to 232 degrees Celsius. The dual progress display shows two different temperatures, the set temperature and the current temperature. This thermometer also includes a heat shield to protect the digital components from steam. It comes with 2 LR44 batteries and has a convenient auto-off feature after 1 hour to prolong battery life.

I have purchased 2 of these. I love the settings and the warning beeps. It's a great thermometer! Except that the digital display is horrible. After a few uses it wipes out. If you happen to know what temperature setting you have selected, the thermometer still works. But knowing what is selected can be very challenging when the display doesn't work. After purchasing the first one, I figured I did something wrong with it (i.e. got it wet or too hot) but after purchasing the second one and having it do the same thing, I realized it wasn't me but the thermometer itself.

We use this thermometer for cooking our caramel and it works perfectly! It lasts about 6 months before the screen quits working but if you don't heat it over 300 degrees F and take good care of it, it lasts much longer. Don't get it wet or drop it!

Great thermometer, great clip, love that you can set the temperature and it beeps when it's close, letting me walk away without without worrying about anything burning. HOWEVER - I've had this happen in the past when an employee unknowingly dips the whole thermometer in the sink and it shorts out so I was very VERY clear that just the metal tip gets washed, do not put it in the sink, don't let the top get wet. Now there's a very good chance it was accidentally dropped into the sink but seriously, within weeks of opening it and it's already useless. Who designed these thermometers to be so flimsy that a splash of water ruins them? They're meant for kitchens! I'll just stick with my trusty manutal read thermometers that I can fully wash and sanitize rather than these dainty finicky digital thermometers that break so easily.
