The 13" hardened, forged stainless steel knife is great for a variety of slicing applications while eliminating the potential for rust or flaking. The slice thickness can be adjusted up to 1 5/16" to allow for fine cuts or thicker slices. With an 1/2 hp motor, this slicer can handle the hardest slicing jobs.
Automatic Product Carriage
This slicer automates the product carriage movement, allowing your employees to help customers or work on other tasks while the slicer does all the work!
Adjustable Settings
3 speeds (20, 40, and 60 slices per minute) and 3 stroke lengths (1/3, 2/3, and full stroke) let you adjust operation depending on what you're slicing and how much you want to slice.
Product Pusher
A metal pusher on the feed tray provides pressure against the product being sliced, preventing slipping, ensuring a consistent cut, and also guarding your hands from the slicer knife.
45 Degree Feed Tray
The feed tray is mounted at a 45 degree angle, which uses gravity to better hold the product against the knife for a more consistent product. It can accommodate rectangular products up to 10 1/2" x 6 3/4", square items up to 7 1/2", or round products up to 8 1/2" in diameter.
Removable Sharpener
The sharpener boasts a Borazon stone design to provide fast, precise sharpening, and it can be submerged during cleaning. It clips onto the feed tray and can be stored on the back of the unit when not in use.
Durable and Easy to Clean
A one-piece, polymer base and product table make cleaning easier by eliminating crevices that can harbor food debris. This base and feed tray also gives this slicer a clean, sleek look. It also has a kick stand to allow easier access under the unit.
Safety Interlock
Safety is a top concern in slicer operation, and that's why this unit comes with a mechanical gauge plate interlock. Once the feed tray has been removed for cleaning, heavy-duty wires prevent the gauge plate from opening, shielding the knife and preventing injury to the operator. Additionally, the index knob and start / stop switch are located outside the drip zone as an added safety feature. While the controls are in easy reach, its exposure to liquids is limited.

I would recommend this slicer to anyone in the deli business. We use this slicer for whole roasted top round beef and it handles it perfectly. We also slice large amounts of cheeses and hard salamis. The slicer cuts through it seamlessly.

Our organization has purchased three X13A-Plus in the last year. All three have required warranty service. Bolts not tightened from the factory on several assemblies. Actuator assembly cam missing a dowel pin, etc. Berkel used to make great products; no more. We are moving on!

This slicer was good while it lasted. Unfortunately the automatic part of it stopped working after just about 14 months and its out of warranty,

Absolutely love this slicer. This is very powerful! Very easy to clean too. It is very quiet on low speed, it does get louder the faster speed you use.
