This thermometer comes with the required CR2032 battery so you can get it up and running right away. It reads quickly, in just four seconds, and automatically turns off after 10 minutes to help preserve the battery life when the thermometer is not in use. The protective sleeve helps keep your thermometer clean and free of contaminants in between uses. Plus, the included lanyard and magnet make it easy for your staff to keep this thermometer within reach.

if you need a working thermometer don't buy this one. the lcd display goes out and it freezes up. you gotta take the battery out to get it to work again, then it freezes again. only half the lcd displays numbers.

It does not have a 4 second recovery time. It is from 10-15 seconds. Do not purchase for testing internal temperature for bread baking. You will lose a ton of oven heat.
