This works well for taking temperatures but I was hoping for the thin tip and this was not it but it still works.

I bought this thermometer in 2012 and have moved around the world with it about a half dozen times, and it's still working well! It's not as fast at getting to the reading temperature as some much more expensive thermometers, so if you're taking a ton of temperatures for safety checks, you might want a more expensive one, but it works well and is accurate.
