Avantco 177MX20FLEXB 20 Qt. Beater with Flexible Silicone Blade

The concept of this product is great, and for the first week, it worked perfectly... so perfectly that I bought another paddle. Unfortunately, as soon as I ordered the second paddle, the first one began to fall apart while in use. Pieces of the silicone scrapper broke off into the cheesecake batter. Hoping it was just a fluke, we started using the second scrapper paddle and the same thing happened.

same as other reviews on this product...It was included in a bundle with our new mixer. it was fantastic for a couple of weeks (we use it maybe twice a week to make frosting), before a large chunk of the rubber broke off. We weren't over using.... only hand washing.. but it literally broke after fewer than 10 uses. I chatted with customer service on line, and since it's a "wearable part" it is not covered under the warranty, but they'd be happy to sell me a new one with a discount. So after tax and shipping would probably cost to buy a replacement for the defective product... going by the reviews, most likely with another defective product. If the company can't provide a reliable scraping blade, they shouldn't offer one. It was LITERALLY what convinced us to purchase the model mixer we did. I understand the wearable part argument, but still ... it should be reliable for more than 10 uses! So disappointed.

Similar to other reviewers - this beater worked wonderfully for a few weeks and then RAPIDLY deteriorated. It is such a shame because I really needed something like this to make cake and cookie batters and this saved so much time. I wish they would make and release a new sturdier version. I would buy it in a heartbeat

it's beginning to feel a bit redundant when reading these reviews - you'd think the company would attempt to fix the obvious problem with these. similar to other reviewers, we're now on our *second* failed paddle, after a very brief period of use, and are evidently left without an adequate substitute. warranty doesn't cover it. this product should clearly be taken off the website and remedied, considering it's falling apart in things meant for human consumption.

I wish I read the reviews before I purchased this product. We are now on our second one, and we have had it a little more than two weeks and it’s already deteriorating. Piece Of junk and doesn’t have a warranty.

I bought this mixer attachment to replace our 2 year old beater attachment with silicon that had finally lost it's rubber. This mixer attachment came in and worked well for the first month, though now we are entering the second month with it and the rubber is already coming apart from the base! I wish avantco would have just made a better attachment piece and charged a little more for better quality.. at this point it would have been worth the extra price.

Same as other reviewers. I've gone through 2, but they each lasted about a year. We mostly make buttercreams and sugar cookie dough with it. (I own a small town bakery.) What is broke them was chocolate chip batter and our chicken salad with nuts in it. It's the smaller hard pieces I think. I'm buying another because we just have to have it for buttercreams, but we won't but using it on anything else anymore. Like the others, I wish there were a sturdier option.

Great experience with all products we've purchased from Webstaurant, but sadly, this blade lasted only 3 uses (cake batter) and pieces of the silicone edge broke off. Not only was it disappointing to find out there wasn't even a 30 day warranty, we lost an entire mixer of batter worried there would be more pieces of silicone inside. Great idea in theory, if only it was better quality.

We have gone through a few of these. They are all junk. And with no warranty, don't buy it. It shouldn't even be sold. Just look at all the reviews.....I wish I could also give it a 0 star.

I would give this NO stars if possible. It does not fit on my Avantco 20 Qt mixer, so it is useless. Now I have to pay return shipping and a restock fee for something that was obviously misrepresented. Really angry!

We were so excited to start using this new paddle beater and it worked great for the first couple of weeks but it has been sitting on my desk since then to decided what I can do with it since the silicone blade starting coming off piece by piece. It certainly can't handle cheesecake batter and frostings which are what we bought it for. I was about to order another one for our second mixer but not now. Very disappointed.
