Customer Q&AAsk a Question

Can I use this ice cream scoop with a dipper well?
Yes, we recommend that the temperature of the water in the dipper well be at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit at the beginning of each use. Do not put this scoop in boiling water or heat it to more than 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
What is the difference between a disher and an ice cream scoop?
Dishers are designed to control servings of soft foods, such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, or steamed vegetables. Although these are not meant for harder foods, such as ice cream, they are versatile tools that can be used for portion control in both prep and service applications. Ice cream scoops offer the durability necessary to scoop hard, frozen foods, such as ice cream. Both are traditionally sized by the number of scoops per quart that they can produce; however, they may also be sized by the number of ounces they hold. Dishers feature an easy-to-operate thumb press or squeeze-handle design, complete with a quick-release component that ensures no food is unintentionally left behind in the scoop. Ice cream scoops on the other hand, do not feature any movable components.

Thus was the right size disher to fill the standard cupcake liner that fit into the standard cupcake pan. Using 1 box of cake mix, this makes exactly 24 cupcakes. I was unable to get this right using a different scoop from the store. I'd say this is a must to help bake uniform cupcakes. Minus 1 star because it doesn't complety scoop all the batter from the bottom of the scoop. Easy to squeeze and didn't tire my hand after scooping 200 times in one night.

This scoop is great for standard size muffins and cupcakes. It fills the muffin tin 3/4 of the way, which is exactly what I need.

The perfect scoop for muffin or cupcake batter. It is easy to clean and also works well with meatballs. The heavy duty gauge material will not wear out.

Great size scoop for standard-sized liquid cupcake batters; ejects well and is easy to clean. Sometimes the scoop device comes off the rails, but it's easy to fix.

A great scoop that is perfect for portioning out cake batter for standard cupcakes. Fills your liner 3/4 of the way full for perfect uniform cupcakes.

Great little scoop. We primarily use for parsing out cookie dough. The mechanism can get a little stiff after working with it for a while.

Jacob H. on 08/06/2020

This is a really good disher. If you cookie dough is stiff, the release part may get stuck. Over all, the product is ok quality. not bad at all!

Cheryl L. from Bake Divas Bakery on 07/07/2020

Perfect size scoop for muffins! Exactly what I needed. The handles squeeze easily and rebound quickly, making baking fun. And it’s easy to clean, too!

Vicki N. on 05/14/2020

This is a great disher. Good size for smaller items, I just used it to scoop biscuits and it was just the right size for a perfect dozen out of the recipe.

Bruce M. on 11/20/2019

Pretty good scoop, I've had a few others that were a little smoother but overall a good product for the price. I use it for meatballs but it could be used for scooping muffin mix etc.

Alana B. on 08/07/2019

Wow, these are great for portioning. But man, it is frustrating to clean, and man, the part that clears out the food can get misaligned an even break. Still, what other product is out there that is at this price?

Great sturdy scoop for cookies and muffin mix. Washes easily by hand or in the dishwasher. Dispenses evenly with smooth scoops. Fast release and makes baking faster

Tiffany from Billy Goat on 07/24/2019

Makes sidework for my servers much faster and easier. No worry about over filling sides and spilling all over counter tops. Easy to clean and holds up well.

Stephanie B. on 07/03/2018

I like the size of these, but they were not very sturdy. Ours broke after a couple of uses but were not worth the return shipping or restocking fee.

awesome portion disher scoop, we use for both ice cream AND butter, and even while making casseroles we use for cream cheese and sour cream, it's a lifesaver and works well, even for people like myself who have arthritis.

Helen L. from Punky Dines LLC on 04/07/2018

This little stainless steel scooper is the perfect size for portioning out cupcake batter and salad dressings into standard 2 oz. cups. They are easy to clean and very durable!

Gail P. on 02/10/2018

Great product. Easy to use. It was recommended to use a #24 scooper to fill regular size muffin cups. I think it was not enough batter but it depends on how big of a muffin you want.

Rachel R. on 01/11/2018

This scoop works really well until it breaks. I have three of these in different sizes and two have broken (in different places). So, if you're interested in good looking tools and are handy at fixing things, this is for you!
