Customer Q&AAsk a Question

Can I use this ice cream scoop with a dipper well?
Yes, we recommend that the temperature of the water in the dipper well be at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit at the beginning of each use. Do not put this scoop in boiling water or heat it to more than 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
What is the difference between a disher and an ice cream scoop?
Dishers are designed to control servings of soft foods, such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, or steamed vegetables. Although these are not meant for harder foods, such as ice cream, they are versatile tools that can be used for portion control in both prep and service applications. Ice cream scoops offer the durability necessary to scoop hard, frozen foods, such as ice cream. Both are traditionally sized by the number of scoops per quart that they can produce; however, they may also be sized by the number of ounces they hold. Dishers feature an easy-to-operate thumb press or squeeze-handle design, complete with a quick-release component that ensures no food is unintentionally left behind in the scoop. Ice cream scoops on the other hand, do not feature any movable components.

#100 is a very small disher, but when small is what you need then this meets the need. This style is a little harder to clean than the more basic kind, but has a much nicer action.

I use this to make mini cookies and they turn out the perfect size. easy to clean and does not hurt my wrist when squeezing

Billie J. from Daniel C Tolner on 01/12/2021

It is exactly as described and it works very well. Construction and material used are top-notch. I believe this will be something of a legacy piece - one that will last for the next generation to use.

Kerry S. on 02/22/2020

This scooper does a great job of portioning our product. It makes sure that we are consistent with the quantities that we are serving which helps us save money.

Josh N. from Beast And Bottle on 12/03/2019

We use these to scoop cookie batter and it works great. It is also very easy to squeeze and does not bother your hands after continuous use.

Semira D. on 08/12/2019

This #100 round stainless steel Disher is a great tool to have in the kitchen. It is the perfect size for smaller scoops. We use them for scooping mini cookies and other baked goods. Took away one star because when you squeeze the handle it isn't necessarily as smooth of a glide as some of the other brands scoops, but still does the job.

Elgun A. on 07/30/2019

This scoop is just what I have been looking for! It’s perfect for bites size cookies! I’ve been looking for a smaller one for a while and I’m so glad to have found it.

Christie S. on 06/08/2019

This item is so helpful in our kitchen; we use it everyday. At La Jolla Groves we use it for scooping butterballs and the scraper part makes our job much easier.

Kyler R. from Marleys Gourmet Sliders on 04/24/2019

This is an all purpose scoop, but the mechanism does tend to wear out. We use for cookie scoop and it wears out... as butter scoop it's fine

Decent quality at a great price. These scoops are going to break down on you eventually and you may occasionally get a lemon that doesn't have very smooth action, but I am pleased over all. I will be buying more since I use them a lot and they are so cheap I don't remind replacing them often.

Michael K. from Husam Shabaneh on 08/14/2018

I was so happy to find this size scoop! I make tiny biscuits and was having to scoop them with a regular spoon which was more time consuming. This makes quick and easy work of it. Easy to clean it the scoop is very surdy.

Cheryl F. on 05/18/2018

You can use the disher for so much more than mini cupcakes. It’s the perfect size to scoop out homemade truffles, mini cookies, or even packing your own condiments into plastic containers (like butter, ketchup, mayo, etc.).

Joe C. on 03/15/2018

Great scoop! The squeeze handle means less mess trying to get to the bottom of that peanut butter jar! And it measures the exact portion every single time too!

Kady C. from N/A on 02/21/2018

This is a very tiny scoop. We do fine uses for it such small cookies. The gear on the middle scoop and the track is a little messed up after about a year of use but it is still functional.

David A. from The Homestead on 01/08/2018

I love these so much I'm working on getting one in every size. I needed a really small scoop for cream centers for mousse bombes. This looks like it will work.

Rachel R. on 01/05/2018

Nice prefect scoop to make our chocolate flake dessert. Strong spring help to work with the ruff material and clean it nice out. Bought a lot different brands. Broke most around the spring or felt in part. We made more than 700 chocolate flake and still work like new.

Uwe L. from Uwe Labelle TFC on 12/13/2017

Well built stainless steel construction. I used this for making bourbon balls and found it easily scooped an ejected the filling. One problem I bought too small of one.

Robert K. on 12/08/2017

This is a nice little scooper that handles cookie dough well and makes a nice small-ish cookie, though I wouldn’t call the cookie particularly small. This looks to be a generic manufactured scoop, and the box has no branding to speak of. I did note that Vollrath lists their #100 scoop as 0.33 ounce, and this particular scoop is listed at 0.375 ounce. The mechanism on this item is a little sticky, and you need to use a little force to use. It also tends to concentrate the pressure onto one spot of your palm, making it mildly uncomfortable to use for lots of repetition. By comparison, a larger Vollrath fisher I have had a much smoother mechanism and a handle that better distributes the pressure. Also, I find that I need to squeeze the handle a couple of times to quickly release a ball of cookie dough, or wait as it slowly detaches.

Portion scoops are the way to go when you want to make the perfect size meatballs, cupcakes, stuffed mushrooms, sliders and more. So handy to use and you get consistent size portions.
