I am so glad that I invested in a dehydrator. I spent so much money buying freeze dried fruit in bulk, but now I can essentially make my own dried fruit without having to run my oven for hours. I see now that I can use this with leftover fresh herbs!
Having only dehydrated food using a low heat oven, this product is absolutely incredible. Great for making dried fruits and beef or bacon jerky absolutely delicious!!
This is a good solid dehydrator for the price - very easy to use. Plug it in and turn it on. They trays come together and separate easily. Extra trays are available for purchase. The only downside I can see is that it doesn't have a timer which would be helpful, but not a deal breaker.
I am pleased with this Weston food dehydrator. I use it for drying Roma tomatoes I find that dried tomatoes add amazing flavor to almost any dish. I think throwing some dried tomatoes into pasta sauce or chilli adds an amazing burst of flavor. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the clear trays seem brittle and I feel like they could break if you hit them against anything. Also I would not suggest that you run the trays in a dishwasher.
