Details

Serve your patrons a truly traditional German meal with this Warrington Farm Meats 7" weisswurst sausage! Weisswurst, literally meaning "white sausage" in German, is a traditional Bavarian delicacy that's made from a mixture of freshly minced veal and pork back bacon that is flavored with fresh lemon, parsley, and spices like nutmeg and cardamom, then stuffed into pork casings. Though the casing, which is removed before eating, is tough and chewy, the meat inside is tender with a springy bite and a particularly mild flavor! This Bavarian sausage is traditionally enjoyed as a mid-morning snack, though today, it's served in homes, restaurants, and Brauhauses all over Germany at any time of day.

If you want to serve this delicacy at your German restaurant or Oktoberfest celebration, a traditional preparation method will be your best bet. Because the ingredients in weisswurst are cooked during preparation, the sausages themselves do not need to be cooked through, just warmed enough to serve. Warm your weisswurst in a pot of water heated to about 70 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes, ensuring that the water does not boil to prevent the casing from splitting. You can serve your weisswurst either in a traditional bowl with its cooking water, or directly on your customers' plates. For authentic accompaniments, serve a pair of weisswurst with dollop of sweet German mustard and a salty Bavarian pretzel! If your patrons have never enjoyed weisswurst before, it may be helpful to offer some suggestions for how to eat it: to avoid consuming the thick, chewy pork casings, adventurous customers can bite off both ends of the sausage and suck the meaty contents out of the casing in true German fashion! For a more refined approach, the casing can be peeled off like a banana skin, or the sausage can be split lengthwise to expose the soft, flavorful interior. Your patrons are sure to enjoy sampling the taste of Bavaria with this traditional weisswurst!

Weisswurst Sausage

These I ordered for my brother I gave some to my son, this was the first time he had tried these he really liked them, My brother was stationed in Germany so he has tried a lot of the food over there. When he was here the other day to visit ,he was telling me how much he would like to find these and how well he liked them. He said he wasn't able to find them where he lives so when I saw these I wanted to get them for him, now that my son and family like them to I will be ordering more very soon. I have some work that needs done around here so I have to have something to bribe him with ha ha.

These are great, mild mapley flavor. Good for breakfast, but big, so I cook and slice to add to a meal. They are great in alot of dishes, so yes, would definitely buy again.

Flavor:
Knockwurst Sausage

These Knockwurst are not very good. They are exceptionally dry with a sawdust texture no matter how we cook them. They lack flavor, has no discernible personality, and are ground too course for Knockwurst. Was planning on using these in German stew but the texture is off putting to say it mildly. Since they were not going to work in the stew we tried grilling them, sauté, braise, boil, hot air cook, pan fry, and deep fry with same result. Best results was de-casing them, adding pork fat, and use in German potato hash. We previously used the Kunzler brand also from Westaurantstore but wanted to try something new. Switching back and probably avoiding Warrington Farm meat products going forward. In all fairness, we also ordered Warrington Farm 7” jerk chicken sausage on the same order. They do not taste like Jerk nor Chicken but at least they were edible Read More

Flavor:
Bratwurst Sausage

this is my first worldly experience with bratwurst of any kind so i'll just write my impressions....the sausage is very mild and homogeneous and very easy to eat. The sausages were all open on both ends and about 1/2 to 1 inch of filling comes out both ends as you cook them...maybe that's exactly how brats are supposed to be, don't know......the one thing that got my attention was that the plastic packaging was very robust and the brats are very delicate and it was a real struggle to get the brats freed from that very tough packaging without crushing or tearing the sausages....didn't like that....so deducted a star
