Efficient 2-Piece Lid
For accommodating the kitchen workflow, the container lid includes a removable, top plug. What is the proper technique for cleaning my blender jar?
Due to the metal construction of their drive components, blender jars are a hand wash only item. They should not be run through a dishwasher, and care should be taken to avoid directly spraying the bottom of the container with a high pressure pre-rinse faucet. For best results, clean the bottom of the jar with a washcloth and a mild detergent or sanitizer when needed.

The Vitamix XL is an outstanding blender that does what it's supposed to do and has plenty of power. What sets this particular blender apart from the others is its large container capacity - 1.5 gallons, which is the largest of the Vitamix line. There are other options for large container sizes from other companies, but Vitamix sets the gold standard in quality and so if the container capacity is sufficient this will probably do the job. In terms of RPM, the smaller Vitamix blenders may be a little bit faster, which could mean better smooth results for blending things like nuts and seeds, but I blended sauces with almonds and the results were excellent. Also the power of this unit far exceeds any other Vitamix.
