Hi, I’m Darren, and I want to tell you about Mr. Bar-B-Q wood chips. Wood chips are used when you want to add a smoky flavor to your food while grilling. As you can see, we offer cherry, apple, mesquite, and hickory. The different wood varieties infuse different wood flavors in your food.
There are the fruit woods like apple and cherry. These are more delicate woods that are used for fish and chicken. Then you have the more robust flavored chips. Hickory, which is a medium flavor infuser, and mesquite which is the strongest flavor infuser. These stronger flavored chips are used for ribs, steak, pork shoulder, and brisket.
Chips can be used either dry or wet. Simply soak the chips in water, broth, beer, wine, or juices, or just use them dry. Another method is to put one handful of dry wood and one handful of wet chips into a large sheet of aluminum foil. Take both ends and fold them over to create additional layers of foil. Once all sides are sealed, flip it over and puncture holes in the top of the foil. Place your foil packet onto hot coals and enjoy the sweet smoke of the chips. An alternative to the aluminum foil packet method is to use a Mr. Bar-B-Q smoker box.
Now put that in your pit and smoke it.
