Why do I keep receiving an error when copying a file larger than 4 GB or when I back up the drive?

You will receive this message if the drive is formatted to FAT32, which has a file size limitation of 4 GB. You may also see it when backing up to the hard drive using backup software. To fix this issue, you will need to format the drive to NTFS. Make sure to backup any data prior to changing the formatting of the hard drive, as this process will erase all existing data on the drive. Please note that if you are using Windows ME or 98SE, you will not be able to run NTFS.
