I am very pleased with the quality of this skillet. I wanted a larger caast iron plan for searing chicken and then having the ability to finish the chicken in the oven. I know the skillet can pre-seasoned, however i seasoned the skillet with oil after the first cleaning. I used grapeseed oil and coated the pan and left the pan in the oven for 45 minutes at 400. Then i cooked some chopped bacon in the skillet to start the first layer of "natural" non-sticksurface. Then i used the skillet as normal.
