In general, melamine is not microwave or oven safe. You can use a commercial dishwasher to clean your melamine items; however, top-rack only is recommended for residential dishwashing units. After previous purchases these rimless bowls may look small in size but I was pleasantly surprised of the amount of beef stew that I was able to serve myself and enjoy! #norefillneeded

First I made mistake ordering this size because I wanted the 70 oz. However, the smaller size will be good for smaller portions. Will probably use this as a soup bowl. Years ago I purchased 4 of the 70 oz bowls and let me tell you they are still beautiful and are my favorite go to bowl. I will be purchasing more of them this week. Love the melamine!

I’ve heard that these aren’t safe to use in the microwave, and through Webstaurant’s helpful links, I found that this is true. Microwave use is not recommend, but it’s safe to use with hot foods themselves if they are below 160F. I thought that was good information because I don’t want to unknowingly make my family sick just for a product that is more durable. That being said, these are perfect for what we need them for to use occasionally in our camper.
