Get the benefits of infrared and probe thermometers in one unit with this Taylor 9306N infrared thermometer.

Infrared and probe thermometers are great for reading temperatures in a wide range of settings, and with this single product you can get the benefits of both thermometer types. A fold-out probe lets you take temperatures from foods that require a core temperature, but if you need to take the surface temperature on a griddle simply switch it over to infrared mode!

4" Probe

This model comes with a 4" fold out probe for taking internal temperatures, which stays secured to the side of the unit and swivels out when it's needed. The probe has a temperature range of -67 to 626 degrees Fahrenheit.

Infrared Mode

If you need to take surface temperatures on equipment, this thermometer's infrared mode lets you easily switch over. The infrared thermometer has a range of -67 to 482 degrees Fahrenheit.

Accuracy Readings:

For thermocouple readings:
below 14 degrees Fahrenheit, +/- 2 degrees
14 -149 degrees Fahrenheit +/-1 degree
above 149 degrees Fahrenheit +/- 1% of reading

For infrared readings:
-67 - 32 degrees Fahrenheit, +/- 1.8 degrees
32 -149 degrees Fahrenheit +/-2 degrees
above 149 degrees Fahrenheit +/- 1.5% of reading

Built for Easy Use

This Taylor 9306N thermometer has min/max and hold features and an auto-shutoff extends the battery life (powered by 2 AAA batteries, which are included). Two additional features are a HACCP check light warning system, which alerts the user to potential HACCP violations, and a handy carrying case!

Customer Q&AAsk a Question

Can this thermometer be used for monitoring body temperature?
No, this thermometer is not intended to be used for medical purposes and will not accurately report body temperatures.
What is the importance of an infrared thermometer's distance to target ratio?
The distance to target ratio (DTR or "distance to spot ratio") shows the diameter of the circle of the surface area being measured. For instance, a 12:1 DTR measures a 1" diameter from 12" away, or a 2.5:1 DTR measures a 1" diameter from 2 1/2" away. Keeping your distance from what you are measuring will ensure extra cleanliness in your business.

Have not used this all that much, but I have the same problem as the other reviewer. The metal probe has pulled out of the unit exposing wires that don't look very strong. This makes it difficult to use in most meat situations. I've been thinking about how to glue it somehow. Sigh.

I've had better, but I've had much worse. This is a great, affordable thermometer for it's price point. Easy to use, easy to read, and accurate. Can't go wrong here.

Love this item. bought the meat thermometer for home too. husband uses it all the time. This one wa great for the soups and chilis temp check

Patricia V. from Maven Foods Co LLC on 06/20/2019

This thermometer is amazing! It’s all digital and gives accurate readings of whatever you’re trying to read. This comes in real hand in the kitchen because all you have to do is point the laser at whatever you want and it will give you a fairly accurate reading fast.

Kyler R. from Marleys Gourmet Sliders on 06/03/2019

this was a great by. as the Executive Chef I don't like to carry alot of tools, but I need to be ready to inspect allot of items and wear alot of hats. Great tool to have. simple and easy to use and the case is nice.

Lawanda K. from Q-Zeens LLC on 02/15/2019

No matter which way you wish to use this, it is highly accurate in reading temperatures. It is very easy to use and will last a long time. I have found that it is well worth the price.

Sara H. on 10/16/2017

This is my go-to thermometer in the kitchen. I love that it has dual temp capabilities, reading both with a probe and infrared. I always have in on me.

Carla L. on 09/11/2017

this is very good quality. the numbers are very easy to read and the temp guage is accurate all the time. I would recommend this product

Kim W. from 1960 on 03/28/2017

I bought two of these thermometers for gifts for our daughters. They are quite the gourmet cooks and asked for this type of thermometer. I hope that it holds up under use. It will be interesting to compare this type of thermometer to the Taylor dishwasher safe digital probe thermometer.

Anna B. on 01/03/2017

Probe works well and Infra red spot gives a reliable and consistent temperature reading at close distances with relatively smooth surfaces and low reflectivity. Good option especially for the price.

Ron D. from Kindred Spring on 06/15/2016

The Taylor 9306N Dual Temp thermometer is a great product, very happy with our purchase so far. We use it on a daily basis and it produces accurate readings and is relatively fast.

Thomas B. from Mariah P on 05/24/2016

We love this thermometer, but unfortunately out of 3 units, 2 of them broke in the same exact way. We use a lot of precise temperatures in puling different cuts of meat out of our smoker. In both cases, the probe comes unglued from the housing of the unit, exposing wires. Once the probe is loose, it won't pull out of the meats we are temping without ripping on the wires. This would be great if it held up better -- but for durability concerns, I wouldn't purchase again.

This thermometer is great for getting am accurate reading of equipment temperatures. Great way to make sure everything is workinf properly. The probe part is best for a quick and precise reading of food.

The Taylor 9306N Splash-Proof dual temperature infrared thermometer with the probe is a very high quality and user friendly thermometer with very accurate temperature readings.

Facilities U. from Blind Dog on 09/12/2014

Good product. Accurate and relatively fast. Use on a daily basis. Probe function is awesome, but sometimes the scan doesnt seem to be too accurate or consistent.

Will B. from Flat Waves on 02/02/2014

Like this for instant read, but still like the ones that clip on the pan better. Great for things that are baked like meats and cakes.

Jacqueline C. from WINDY CORNER GARDEN on 07/29/2013

The Taylor 9306 Infrared Thermometer with Probe is very useful. It takes the guess work out of cooking. It allows you to be accurate and safe.

Michael B. from Cruisincafe on 04/13/2013

This item is right on target. Use in my commercial kitchen trailer that I travel with. You feel real comfortable knowing that when the board of health shows up, you have a good reliable product.

Gale D. from GDB Enterprises, LLC on 07/26/2012

these infrared therms are just the best to have around for fast spot checks of temps now they only tell you the surface temp so you need to use the probe as well
