I LOVE this large double mesh strainer! I use it to strain out coffee grounds when I make egg coffee. The large size is good for straining large quantities

Debi M. on 08/03/2020

Very strong strainer. I really appreciate how strong it is when I'm making jelly, but the extra layer seems more prone to rust, which is why i'm not giving it five stars.

Now I can wash rice, lentils, and quinoa without losing a lot of gains in the sink. I can also remove seeds from sauces (like tomato sauce) and smoothies.

This double mesh strainer is perfect for getting clear stocks and broths. It is fine enough to get clumps out of gravy and still a good enough strainers to wash small items quickly if you need. The handle makes it an especially helpful tool and this can be stored nested with the smaller strainers from the same company.

Leora G. on 05/22/2018

We have several of these. some we use for food and others we dedicate as a drain catcher. It's a great way to ensure that product is strained correctly!

Very nice strong Madewell 6 1/4 inch 10 double mess strainer really like the medium size holes on it really great It's been working well

Bistro L. from Place To Be Bistro on 09/08/2017

This is a good strainer in a larger size big enough for small saucepans or mixing bowls. It does have a wood handle that helps keep it from turning in your hand.

Eric S. on 07/09/2017

These are absolutely perfect for straining out old oil. It will keep even the smallest bits out leaving you with cleaner oil and give you more life out of them.

Hai N. on 03/30/2017

We used one of these as a regular food tool, and we have used another as part of an impromptu drain filter when we couldn't get our regular system to work. This is durable and cleans well.

Saxon M. on 02/25/2017

Excellent strainer. It's double mesh so it's been withstanding straining after straining after straining. Have not lost it shape. And for this price, it is well recommended.

Yvonne G. on 08/25/2016

This is a good size sifter. I can fit about 3-4 cups of flour at one time. It also works good to strain large unwanted bits and pieces for making gravy or a stock.

Paul F. on 07/15/2016

This is probably the best strainer I have ever used. It's very well built, and the size is perfect for everything I've used it for. The only issue has been that the wood handle is showing significant signs of wear from washing.

Kenneth H. on 07/08/2016

I love this strainer. I enjoy the fact that it has a long handle, which makes it easy to use when you don't have someone else to help/hold it. I would recommend.

Elizabeth P. on 07/05/2016

This strainer works great for making slightly thicker sauces or syrups. I recently used it to get all of the goodies out of bananas for a house-made banana flavored sauce and it worked perfectly!

Glenda D. from Milam Street Coffeehouse & Bakery LLC on 07/01/2016

Great mesh strainer for straining rice, pasta and other fruits extracts. i am very happy with this item and we use it daily in our kitchen.

Kumaran N. on 03/14/2016

Purchased the 6" strainer- this little guy works really well. I've used this to create a nice creamy corn sauce and it came out great. Would probably go bigger though.

Brent S. on 03/05/2016

This is a great little strainer. The mesh is very strong, and I don't see it separating from the rim like with other, cheaper strainers I've had. I wish the handle wasn't wood so it could be soaked or dishwashed, but I would still buy this again, and will probably get other sizes.

Alyssa B. on 02/29/2016

Great strainer. Much better than the ones I've used that only have one layer of mesh. Two is way more effective. It also looks very nice in person. Good quality.

Vivian B. on 01/10/2016

A great strainer, a little hard to clean but does a great job. The mesh is tightly woven to ensure all your product doesn't go down the drain.

Joseph G. from Genovese's on 12/26/2015

Strainer is quality made and the little "arms" keep it safely on pots while I am straining down broth. I like this model because the plastic ones never seem to last and I think this metal mesh strainer will last a long time. The double mesh keeps little bits of bone and other undesirable things from getting into stock or gravies.

Robert H. on 04/21/2015

A great price on a item that every kitchen, bar, needs to have on hand. The Tablecraft brand is well built and will last a long time.

Chris D. from Ckd Restaurants, Llc on 03/20/2015

Great for straining seeds out of the jams we make or sifting powder sugar over some lucky baked cookies. Use this daily at the bakery.

Marianne C. from Local Foods Bakery on 01/07/2015

This worked great, need to order different sizes for other projects in the future. When I use a new item, it makes me think of different uses with other sizes.

Jana L. from Candle Lynn on 12/10/2014

After using this double mesh I will not go back to the classic ones. Works like a dream. Easy to hold has a nice wide wooden handle.

Jennie M. on 10/30/2014

This mesh strainer is inexpensive and it has many uses and it is made durable. I use it to strain tea leaves from tea, to strain spaghetti, and to strain blenched beans. It is a tool one should have for her home kitchen.

Yvonne O. on 10/10/2014

I love my double mesh strainer, and use it every time I make tea. I use real tea leaves and they do not seep through. There is nothing like fresh brewed tea.
