This Philips 861394 battery charger is a perfect companion for HeartStart FR3 AEDs with a rechargeable battery. This charger allows you the convenience and cost savings of keeping a spare rechargeable battery topped off to full at all times, rather than relying on disposable battery packs that are expensive to replace. Use it to charge one AED battery while using a fully charged battery in your FR3 AED. Your FR3 AED must have software version 2.1 or newer to use the compatible rechargeable battery.
Rechargeable AED batteries are primarily designed for high-use environments like EMS services and hospitals. You may also be required to have a spare battery charging for each AED. Applications that will not use the AED frequently are advised to use a non-rechargeable battery instead because of their longer life and lower maintenance.
