How To Make Latte Art

How To Make Latte Art

Hi I'm Sarah Shirk, Green Coffee Buyer for Square One Coffee. Square One is an award-winning specialty coffee roaster based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Today, I'm here to show you how to do latte art. As your shot of espresso is pulling, purge the steam wand, and start steaming your milk. Begin by aerating the milk, which creates the tight, creamy micro-foam that you can use to pour latte art on top of your drink. Swirl the milk to integrate the foam with the milk. Start pouring high to sink the heavier milk under the crema of the espresso. Lower your pitcher to the cup when you want to begin pouring your design. A rosetta is created in one single pour using your wrist to create the leaves. A tulip is created with multiple pours in quick succession, stacking the layers on top of one another in the cup. Serve and enjoy. If you'd like to try steaming milk yourself, check out our website: squareonecoffee.com for our Education Series and sign up for a hands-on class.

Grindmaster Venezia Espresso Machine: Maintenance

Grindmaster Venezia Espresso Machine: Maintenance

So the tools you're going to need to change the tat body are a number three allen wrench, a short straight blade screw driver, a short phillips head screw driver, a regular size phillips head screw driver, a regular size straight blade screw driver as well, a 15/16" wrench, a number 17 metric wrench for the left side and a 5/8" for the right side tat body. You're also going to need a large crescent wrench and a pair of wire cutters. So, we'll start by taking off the top panels. It's four screws. Next thing we're going to take off is the four bolts on the top for the side supports. That involves your number three metric. We're now going to take the caps off for the steam wands. You use your small straight blade screw driver to pry it off. Also, to get the pin out of the valve. That slides off. Now, after removing all three handles, start taking off the front assembly. Two screws on the top and four screws on the bottom. You'll need a short screw driver for the bottom screws. Now, we'll slide the front plate off, rest it up top. Slide the bottom off as well. Now, we'll take our 15/16" wrench and take off the first part of the assembly. Careful. You'll use your 15/16" wrench to take off your steam wand as well. You want to make sure that washer comes off with the tat body. So to take the valve, or tat body, off you'll need your large crescent wrench. You'll support it here with your large crescent wrench and then turn with the 17 millimeter. You'll take that nut all the way off and make sure that the brass is pulled back and you'll use your large crescent wrench to take this nut off as well. There ya go. Now we'll put the new tat body on. Tighten that on both ends. You don't want to do it too tight because you will ruin the flare on the copper and then you'll have a worse leak than you started out with. So you'll want to make sure to take the washer out of the top of the steam wand and we'll want to put it on the bottom of the tat body. Make sure that your spring and your washer, your copper washer, stays in the steam wand. Place it back on. Use our 15/16" wrench to finish off tightening it. So, we want to make sure that the copper washer stays on the spring assembly for the steam wand. Get it started and use the 15/16" to finish off tightening this one as well. So, we'll make sure that the head plate goes on before the front plate. Put the two smalls screws into the back side of it first. Have some support when you're putting on the front side. Slide on the front. Put our two screws in the top for support. Put our last two on the bottom. Tighten it all the way. Left side panel. Two grooves in the back and also a little latch here on the bottom that you want to line up and you want to make sure that this panel is below this here clip. That's the left side. Right side is the same way. To put your bracket on. Bracket. Top two panels. The last step is to put your handles back on. Make sure that you have your washer in there and your pin. The long screw driver will help you. There we go.
