Scratch and Dent Avantco GDC-40-HC 48" Black Swing Glass Door Merchandiser Refrigerator with LED Lighting

This fridge worked PERFECTLY...for about 16 months! Then it went from 36 degrees to 68 degrees and never went back down again. Of course the warranty for parts & labor was only for a year, so we were on our own for getting it repaired. Our refrigeration expert checked it out & was sure it was a refrigerant leak on top of a bad compressor and informed us that it would be similar cost to to just purchase a new unit! So, 16 months later we have now purchased a 2nd unit...this time with the 5-year warranty. I personally take very good care of routinely cleaning all our equipment, so this isn't a maintenance issue. Currently I have 5 other Avantco fridges/freezers that I am using at my restaurant with zero issues! Very upset that I need to cough-up money on a product that should be built to last more than a whole calendar year.

I purchased two of these refrigerators and neither of them get below 43 degrees. I had the first one for a year and a half before a health inspector called me out on it. The digital readout says 33F degrees but when you put a thermometer inside the cooler it won't get below 43 degrees. I thought maybe I burned the first one out, so I bought a replacement unit and straight out of the box I had the exact same issue. Stay away from this unit!

Love this fridge!!! I looked everywhere trying to find something compact enough to fit in my coffee trailer And finally came across this gem. Very impressed

Cooler has enough room to fit several items. Easily accessible and displays products perfectly. Castor wheels make for easy moving. Nice LED lights make for easy product viewing.

Right out of the box the unit's door did not sit square, it will not close properly without hitting the bottom grate you have to manually lift up on the door to close. Also, the spring loaded return does not work , the door doesn't close automatically. I have contacted chat about this, but you refused to repair or replace.

Fridge does not cool properly. The negative reviews are correct. The temperature range is not correct. It will not cool lower than 41. I’m not sure why this fridge is still for sale. And being falsely advertised.

Bought this in October 2019. Now April 2023, unit started leaking and not cooling. Spent half a grand fixing.

Ordered this item for retail items in our deli, unfortunately the cooler does not stay in the 30s as advertised. I have it set ok 33 which is as low as it goes and it is constantly in the low 40s.

This product does perform as advertised and is solidly built. The interior lighting is great and it holds temps fairly well. I really would love to give this product 4 or 5 stars. However, I can only give this product 2 stars due to the loudness of the unit. When the fan cycles on, which is about every 5-10 minutes, the unit gets as loud as 65-70 db. (I measured it.) I understand the unit needs airflow, but I've worked with minus 80 freezers that are not as loud.

It has a lot of space for storage. But low quality, the top fan has burnt out and stopped working after 2 and a half months.

I have had this fridge since 2021 with no issues. I thought I would leave a review because I'm buying another one for another one of our stores!

Stopped working in under 2years ,no one wants to fix it

Broke after 1 year. Having no luck getting any service from the manufacturer.

Garbage....Waste of money. My compressor went bad right after 13 months.(right after the warranty ran out) This was in front of my restaurant in the AC the whole life, one day the temp went to 55F and never came down. tried everything and call 2 techs but they refuse to fix this thing because it has this new HIGHLY FLAMABLE refrigerant and even if I were to fix it, its going to cost almost the same money as buying another one of this.

Product arrived assembled wrong, Webstaurant didn't care, they told me to contact the company and file a warranty claim, I did that, they sent a tech, tech said they couldn't get in contact with the manufacturer, when I reached out to the manufacturer they said they were waiting for the tech, this company is a joke. And Webstaurant is a joke for not helping me on an item that was 1 day old.

customer service is telling us to donate . and not returning it , its not cooling please dnt buy or else you will b stuck with defective unit .

No Issues in the last few years. Very spacious and holds temperature well.

The cooler cane off the truck today and we were happy with it until we realized, after unpacking it and bringing it in, that the door doesn’t close. The lip on the corner guard is not seated appropriately and keeps the door from shutting.

I got this fridge in 2016 and it has been working nonstop in a food truck and in smoothie shops all day for 5 years. I need some door parts, but otherwise it’s the most impressive equipment I have purchased.

This black swing glass door refrigerator works great in our cafe! We use one for drinks so customers can easily see our options and one for individual meals and salads we sell as well. Great quality!
