Morton 4 lb. Ice Cream Rock Salt

The fine granules dissolve quickly which is perfect for brines. Not for use as an abrasive for cleaning coffee decanters. I wouldn't use it for cooking either as the finer the grain, the heavier the tablespoon becomes, which could throw off large batch versions of recipes. Again, perfect for brines.

I highly recommend Morton all natural cannong and pickling salt it taste good it have a real good flavor to it mainly used for vegetables

This salt is a great addition to my spice cabinet and does not over power or change the flavor of the different canned items I have stored.

So you use this salt for canning and pickling? Big Whoopee! I use it for every day cooking and in my table salt shakers too because it's more consistent than most table salts WITHOUT all those other chemicals, agents and impurities! Tastes great, and so much cheaper than sea salt (ya know, ALL salt is really sea salt... check it out online!)!

This is the best canning and pickling salt I have used. It dissolves nicely and lasts a long time. I've tried other brands, but Morton is the best.

Great price for pure salt and nothing added. The fine grain of this salt makes it dissolve quickly. It does tend to clump since there is no additive to prevent clumping. I use about 75 pounds of this salt every pickling season on my farm.

I brine my own homemade pickles, ferment saurkraut, jars of pickled banana peppers, tomatillo salsa, Giardiniera mix, the list is endless. I was stoked to find this ice cream rock salt and at such a great price at that. While this does indeed make great icecream, my husband is a Brazilian bbq master, and he insists that the only way to salt meat is with rock salt or "sal grosso" in Portugese. They don't 'believe in' doing rubs. They do a thick layer of salt on the steak prior to cooking, then scrape it all off after cooking, so the salt is never consumed, and wouldn't be tasty if it was, given its course texture.

Good product at a good price. The issue is, everytime I order them, they come with some form of being broke open and some of the salt gets all over the box. Hard to unpack without making a mess and then you have to put it in a new container to store.

I am pretty impressed with this four pound box of Morton Ice Cream Salt. The spice is not too strong but still offers a nice compliment. i love this Morton rock salt. I always keep some in the pantry for summer time. it is the only brand I have every bought for making home made ice cream. It always works amazingly well.

This is large rock salt, not to be confused with edible table salt. This is used in many ice cream makers, great deal for the product.
