How is the weight capacity determined for this mobile shelving unit?
The weight capacity of each mobile shelving unit is determined by the type of caster. Polyurethane casters have a total load rating of 900 Ibs. Rubber casters have a total load rating of 600 Ibs. The amount and or type of shelves do not affect the weight capacity.

Keep your operation running smoothly with the Metro 5Q567EG3 MetroMax Q cart with solid bottom MetroMax i shelf and polyurethane casters. Designed to accommodate up to 900 lb. of evenly distributed weight, the cart features 4 vented, grid shelves and 1 MetroMax solid shelf. Each of the grid shelves feature a wire frame and polymer grid mats, which are removable for easy cleaning. The grid design also promotes proper airflow around your stored products, great for food items in back-of-house storage areas. The solid shelf is great for catching spills and leaks and for holding smaller items.
A set of (4) 74" posts is included with the shelves for a full, upright unit. Wedge connectors also come standard and make assembly both quick and easy. Adjusting the shelves once assembled is even a simple process; just slide the wedges along the posts to the desired notch, and settle the shelf frame down onto the wedges. This will either raise or lower the shelf to best suit your immediate and ever-evolving needs.
The entire shelf cart features Microban antimicrobial product protection, an innovative coating that prevents the growth of bacteria, mold, fungus, mildew, and corrosion. As a result, it fights against the development of odors and stains, keeping the unit in tip-top shape and helping keep your storage area clean and sanitary.
Whatever it stores, and wherever it's used, this unit is designed for convenient and versatile mobility. It's equipped with a set of 4 polyurethane casters, 2 of which swivel and 2 of which feature brakes.
