This chainsaw is designed for convenient chain adjustment without tools and features XPT (Extreme Protection Technology), which protects the unit from excess dirt, debris, water, or mud during intense jobs. It features a 16" guide bar with adjustable automatic lubrication as well as a large oil reservoir and filling port with a view window for easy checking and filling. It's designed with an ergonomic, rubberized soft grip, weighs 11.1 lb. with 2 batteries in place for reduced operator fatigue, and features an LED on / off switch.

This saw includes (2) 18V LXT lithium-ion 4.0 Ah batteries and 1 dual-port charger. The batteries feature Star Protection's computer controls to protect against overloading, overheating, and over-discharging as they optimize performance for longer sustained power. They also feature impact-resistant outer cases and shock-absorbing inner liners that are engineered to protect the batteries and ensure they remain securely attached to the saw. The charger allows the batteries to reach a full charge in just 40 minutes and features an easy-to-see charge level indicator. This chainsaw is only for use with Makita batteries and chargers.
