In the region we operate, tomato puree is virtually non-existent. Mostly tomato paste. After reading the reviews on this item, we took a gamble. We did not buy 1 #10 can for trial, we bought 3 cases of six cans each. Our gamble paid off. This puree is so good most of our patrons can't distinguish it from fresh tomato. We definitely will order more even before we exhaust our stock.

I love the Furmano’s tomatoes! They’re always delicious and at a great price. When they say “heavy purée”, they mean it. It’s not watery and smooth like the little cans you use for English muffin pizzas. It’s very textured and full of tiny pieces of pulp. I wouldn’t want to put this straight on my pasta, but it really enhances a pot of sauce. I prefer a chunky sauce, and this gives a great hearty mouthfeel.

The heavy tomato puree is great and very thick and creamy. The puree makes a wonderful pasta sauce and the can is easy to open.

Furmano's has this great tomato flavor.............some canned tomato have a bitter taste but not these .....the puree can be thinned down as to where I make homemade ketchup and V-8 .......it works out well because if I see vegetables start to turn this is what they are used for

This is like regular canned tomato sauce but better. It is a bit thicker and thus has more texture. It can be used just like other tomato sauces.
