How to Use a Pan Extender

Using a pan extender provides a final product with smooth, straight sides, and a uniform height, color, and texture, with minimized over-baking! Learn more about using a pan extender by watching this video.

When cooking with a pan extender, first place a piece of parchment paper on your sheet pan. Then set the pan extender on top of it. Coat the bottom of the pan and the sides of the extender with a release spray. Pour the batter to 3/4 capacity, and then place the pan in the oven to bake. Bake the batter according to your recipe directions and then remove it when ready. Allow the pan to cool off before gently lifting the extender. The sides of your cake should be straight and smooth, which makes trimming obsolete! Plus, using a pan extender will promote uniform height, color, and texture, while minimizing over-baking!

    I use it to extend the height of my pan to proof my croissant dough. And the height fits my croissant after proofing. My croissant size is 7.5cm by 13cm and it can hold up to 21 croissants of that size.
    Very happy with these. We have 4 of these that we use to spread our fruit/nut purees on sheet trays before we dehydrate them. They are durable and holding up very well after being used daily for 3+ years. Easy to clean, lightweight, but heavy enough to stay in place. Great tool.
    These are great and they hold in the liquids pretty well. They do good with baking to the core, however, I would still recommend using something in the middle to cook the core better.
    We have only really baked biscuits using these pan extenders but they look like they'd work great for cakes, as well. May have to use a liner to prevent seepage.

    Absolutely love using these pan extenders. They make it very easy to make large batches of cake! There is a little cake that escapes out the bottom of the extender but not enough to make a difference. Great purchase.
    This is a nice 2" full size pan extendar this will make the full size pans 2 Inches higher so this is great for big cakes when you need them to be taller

    I'm not a huge fan of the notched corners, which is the reason for the 4 star review. Otherwise, we use these every day for baking sheet cakes and building layer cakes. We line them with aluminum foil and bake all sorts of fillings and goodies.

    WOW can I bake better sheet cakes now that I have this workhorse in my arsenal at the bakery, they turn out great - just remember to oil the sides for release.

    These are excellent pan extenders, we use them all the time to make brownies, cinnamon buns, cheesecake squares, and to stack sheet pans without compressing product.

    I had been trying to find anyone who used it online for a while but hadn't so I decided to take the plunge. This product is a Godsend for my business! This solved my problem of finding a way to bake full sheets of brownies without the edges burning or the brownies spilling over the sides. The only problem I have is that since they are so light, I do have some batter on the sides. Not enough to cause any concern, but it does happen. Parchment paper solved that problem. Just line the pan with butter and overlay the parchment paper on top of the butter, butter up the inside of the pan extender, and set on top of the paper, pour in your batter, and presto. Seems like a bit of extra work, but it is a quick permanent solution to my baking problem.
