Bought 3 of these for milk frothing. The 8 inch size is huge, best for a 40 oz frothing pitcher or larger. We bought 3 and calibrated all of them to start with, 2 of the 3 stay within the same range of a few degrees. The 3rd one would not calibrate or work at all, so basically garbage. For the price they are expendable, for accuracy I would buy from an espresso dealer and order the 5- 6.5 inch size.
