Can I install a dipper well on this product?
Yes. This dipping cabinet includes pre-drilled holes, spaced 4 inches apart, on the rear of the unit for mounting a dipper well.
What’s the difference between ice cream and gelato dipping cabinets?
Generally speaking, ice cream dipping cabinets have a lower holding temperature than gelato dipping cabinets. Because of this, it is not suggested that you store gelato in ice cream units. However, storing gelato in your ice cream dipping cabinet is possible by adjusting the product temperature to be above 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, typically gelato dipping cabinets use 5L pans to hold product, whereas ice cream dipping cabinets are designed to hold 3-gallon tubs.
I haven’t heard of R-290, R-600a, R-513a, or R-448A refrigerant before. What is it?
R-290 (also known as high purity propane or CARE 40) and R-600a (also known as refrigerant grade Isobutane or CARE 10) are hydrocarbon refrigerants. R513a (also known as Opteon XP10) and R-448A (also known as Solstice N40) are HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerants. They are being used by some manufacturers in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program. Read more about this program in our blog post on Refrigerant Regulations.
Can I install casters on this product?
Yes, casters can be installed on this unit by removing the bottom panel to access the predrilled holes for the compatible plate casters.
Why is my ice cream tub spinning when I scoop?
As the ice cream gets low, the tub no longer has the weight to remain in place. The cover of the tub has 4 slots for the included clips (packaged separately) that can be used to provide extra holding power to the tub as to prevent unwanted spinning.
Does this dipping cabinet come with tub inserts and covers?
Yes, this dipping cabinet will come boxed with the tub inserts and covers as pictured.
Does Avantco warrant this item for use in a food truck?
Avantco warrants new equipment sold to food truck customers to be operational for a period of 30 days from the date of delivery if installed and maintained correctly.
