Avantco BCC-48-HC 48" White Refrigerated Countertop Bakery Display Case with LED Lighting

While I really like the look and design of this unit, it's simply doesn't work well. Despite being set at 41 degrees, it typically sits above 50 degrees most of the time. This is my 2nd unit because my first unit did the same. If I could get my money back I would take it back without thinking about it.

This worked very well the first month and a half and then it just stopped cooling, we set it at 37, and it would automatically go up to 50. By the time we realized it was faulty it was too late to return. It’s too bad because we had to throw many of our cold merchandise. We lost money and business. If I could return it I would, now it’s just sitting in the back. Very useless. Be careful before buying.

I have bought 3 of the avantco refrigerated displays for my cafes. This one broke after 6 months. Another one broke 10 days after the 1 year warranty and nothing is able to be done. The other one broke at 7 months. To clarify, 3 of 3 units have broken, 2 within warranty and 1 just 10 days late.

Just had our health inspection...and this barely passed. Apparently you have to keep it on the lowest setting of 35 to keep it to legal temp of 41 or below since the unit fluctuates 7-8 degrees. Not sure for the money paid that is a close gamble on keeping cold stuff in temp.....

Beautiful display unit but it can’t hold the temperature. The temp is set at 36 F but the unit goes to 50 degree F. I’d guess the refrigeration compressor is under powered. I guess you get what you pay for…

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Only worked about 2 months before it stopped cooling. We use it as a dry case now.

Looks great. Works great. And fits a lot more items than you think it does. Plus the shelves are adjustable, so that is awesome. We use dry eraser marker on the glass. And it comes off great.

This small cold case adds just the right touch to our bakery. It’s the perfect size for us. Not only can it hold full size cheesecake but can hold small cakes and full size pies as well! The 3 shelves can be moved around to benefit your needs!

DO NOT BUY!!! This is the second unit I received due to a broken track. The track broke on this unit and the door fell out and shattered. It's now beyond warranty and they do not offer a replacement door. An expensive lesson to not buy Avantco products even though they are less costly.

i. bought this display a year ago and it doesn't work anymore, I already had a technician come and "fix it" charged me $ and told me he recommended to buy a new one ! a year only, very bad quality!

The fridge looks really nice but I’m very disappointed. The fridge temperature keep fluctuated, and a lot of condensation cause all my macarons wet and mushy (and we are in AZ, which really dry). All of those macarons i the picture, I had to throw away all of them.

I will never buy any more equipment from Webstaurant Store. Believe the other reviews in regards to the unit all of a sudden not working. And don’t bother with contacting these guys if you have issues with it because they will refer you to the warranty people instead of trying to help you out. I purchased this equipment we had tested it worked great, its in a cool 72 degrees ambient room. There’s nothing behind blocking the fan and there plenty of clearance on all sides, all of a sudden I decided to no longer cool, basically useless. I purchased it for my Bookstore Café and now I have a very expensive very heavy piece of equipment sitting in my countertop that I will not be able to use.

We have had this for 2 years now. It works well for our setup. We typically have 7 pies in our case with 3 rows of muffins and some jam for sale. It is fairly inexpensive and does just as well as any floor model. Less dust on the counter than the floor keeps the coils cleaned longer for cooling.

I bought this refrigerated display case for my restaurant. I use it to display kebabs on the lower rack and on the upper rack, my appetizers. The customers just come and pick what they want. They love the fact that the food is displayed and they can see it before it gets to their plate! It has a great quality and it's very easy to clean.

I bought this display case for my restaurant about a year ago, and few months ago the fan motor started making a really loud and annoying noise, then I found it had to be replaced, which is costly. The inside design of this unit is stupid as well, Why would a manufacturer design a display unit with cooling vents in front of the sliding doors where dirt and crumps of food could fall inside, and the design does not allow you to remove the tray, or vents because they are glued in and not removable, or open the unit to clean the inside? The only way to clean the food that falls through the vents is to disassemble the unit, which is dangerous and stupid. And to make things even worse, this website lowered the price of this unit $, so now it's much cheaper. I would not buy or recommend this unit.

This cooling case worked fine for 20 months, then three fans stopped working. The repair would cost more than the purchase price. Very disappointing.

Hi Customer Service I have reached out multiple times to request that the delivery location be changed to my store, but I have not received a response or any assistance with this update. The lack of support and accountability from your customer service team has been very disappointing. I would appreciate it if someone could finally help me to get the following answer correctly, if not I won't wait for a year and would like to return the product. 1- The fridge doesn't cool down to set point and stay around 51 oF , it's about 48 hours 2- It seems the fan is making too much and loud noise, I don't have a sound level meter but I don't think it's standard. Foggy unit, no views keep cleaning it very noisy

I would literally give ZERO stars for this item if I had the option. We received second replacement unit because the first one had a broken light, it was getting foggy inside the cooler and the temperature never got below 46-48 degree and wasn't cooling. I had to call in a technician to check the unit on my COST! and the technician told me there were faulty wires inside near the thermostat. The second replacement cooler was working fine when it came in last week, but all of a sudden yesterday it started having same issues again. Now the second unit is also fogging up completely from inside and the cooling is jumping from 35 degrees to 50 degrees back and forth! This has been a great item on all fronts until we added plug ins to the store & now the unit pulls in the air from outside the case & recirculates it inside the case & the food now tastes like air freshener. Is there a setting to circulate the air inside only without pulling outside air in? The fresheners are needed to block the food next door. We are in a shopping center. Thank you!

My small business uses this refrigerated display case to keep our candied buckeyes chilled during the farmers market. It's the perfect size and keeps my candies chilled for up to 7 hours on my jacket electric generator. I highly recommend. Built with quality glass and does need 2 people to lift and transport but worth the price.

This display case makes our desserts look beautiful in our bakery. We receive great compliments and it's easy to use.

Bought this in March 2022. It is now October 2024 and we kept getting an error code. We were assured it was a faulty controller so we replaced it. Same error code. We had a professional come tell us that the compressor and both fans need to be replaced which is probably going to cost more than the unit itself. Had we had known that this was only going to last 2.5 years we would not of bought it. To add insult to injury, this unit is now about $ less than what we paid for it in 2022 so it would have been about % less disappointing in 2026 when it stopped working.

We love our countertop case. We fill it up every morning with sandwiches and meat boxes and have it by our register. It has helped increase sales in the last few months and are considering buying another one!!!
