Ateco Piping Bags, Short Spatulas and Pastry Tubes

Looking for just the right tools to decorate your cakes with? Try the Ateco piping bags, short spatulas, and pastry tubes! These tools will help you create weaves, ribbons, scalloped edges, and more that will leave customers impressed every time.

When frosting cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, the worst part is often cleaning the pastry bags. Luckily, one inexpensive and easy trick is to make a frosting plug. To begin, tear a square piece of plastic wrap and spread it out onto your counter. Grab a large spoonful of frosting and place the dollop on the center of your plastic wrap square. Take one side of the plastic wrap and fold it over the exposed frosting, stopping an inch after the frosting to create a lip. Then, tightly roll the frosting to the other side, until your wrapped frosting has a cylinder shape. Grab each end of the plastic and twist, getting rid of any excess air and make sure the frosting is completely covered. With a coupler on your pastry bag, pull one of the twisted ends through the bag, pulling the end out of the bag’s tip. Cut off any plastic wrap which is pulled through the coupler, and then top off with your desired decorating tip, and then secure the decorating tip with a coupler ring. When finished, carefully pull out the plastic wrap, and you'll find that only the pastry tip and the coupler are dirty. At this point, you can load the new icing colors and flavors into the same bag, or set the bag aside for use at another time.

Use these simple steps to professionally add a buttercream rose. You'll need a spatula, rose tips, a leaf tip, couplers, a flower nail, a rubber spatula, and piping bags. Begin by squeezing cream onto the flower nail in a circular motion, creating a lump with a tip on it. To create the layers of a rose, squeeze cream in an short arch motion and continue rotating the rose until you have the desired amount of layers, or petals.

Hi, this is Julie Bashore from the Sugar Arts Institute. Let’s have fun with some of the Ateco piping tips. Working with their disposable piping bags that come on a roll, they tear off really easily, I like to work with the smaller 12” bags but they also have 18”. Working with a coupler, remove the nut from the base of the coupler and place the base in the bag as tightly as you possibly can. Working with a pair of scissors, above the screw marks, just cut the edge of the bag and remove that. And then you’re going to choose the piping tube that you’d like to work with, place it on the top of the coupler, and screw it down firmly. This is a piping bag stand; it’s very convenient, especially if you’re piping alone or you don’t want to interrupt anyone to fill the bags, it holds the bags really well and you can slip your icing in there. This is the short-ended Ateco spatula which is quite wide so it’s really convenient for picking up the buttercream. Pull the bag up, place it on the table, and spread the buttercream down to the end. And then of course it’s important not to forget to burp the bag. This piping tip that I’m using is a ruffling pipe piping tip, and it’s absolutely amazing how quickly it works. Have a look, come in close. Doesn’t that give an awesome ruffle? Let’s work with another tip. This is the shell tip; don’t forget to burp your bag. This is great for a border; in fact, I sometimes use it on the edge of my ruffle. It gives a really nice shell design. The tip itself is curved so it gives a nice puffy shell appearance to it. Ateco has a new set that they’ve brought out: polycarbonate plastic piping tips, they are large tips, very strong and very precise in the edging. This one is a basket weave design; it really makes an awesome border. Place the bag over the holder, again, don’t forget to push the butter cream all the way to the edge and burp the bag. It has two edges, a flat edge and a scalloped edge so this makes a great ribbon design; you can also wiggle it or make just a ribbon and also wiggle this. Flip it over and wiggle. Great for basket weave.

Ateco 12" Clear Disposable Pastry Bags are easy to use and durable. I have some uses where I need to freeze my filled decorating bags. I have had some brands become brittle and break during the freezing process. These bags hold up to the cold temperatures.

Great quality Pastry bags, don't tear easily. Note that the size is small though, ideal for some fine finishings or when you will work with not a large quantity of frosting.

These piping bags are a must for any bakery! They are sturdy work well with thicker pastes and frostings and you never have to worry about the bag bursting. Highly recommend to all bakers and pastry chefs!
Good quality product. Has the durability most pastry bags need to hold up. We use them quite frequently. Only complaint was I needed a bigger size, my fault.
These are good quality piping bags. I use them for frosting, but also mashed potatoes. They don’t melt and hold up well to hot food or stiff icing.
If you like to save money buy this. Very cheap but in a great quality. Totally going to recommend it and going to buy again
I used these bags for cookie kits I made for a fundraiser. I bought 20 units of these. Overall worked great for what I needed them.
You got 100 disposable bags in this box which can last you a long time. It’s great for piping. The material is thick and mot easy to break
The Ateco bags are hands down my go to bag. They do not have a slick plastic feel, more of a slip resistant finish that helps you grab and hold. You can put as much pressure on these as you physically can, and they will NOT blow a seam. They will hold up to anything, even a thick cream cheese icing. They are a nice thickness, so even drizzling melted chocolate isn't an issue with the bag being too hot in your hand. These are the only brand bags I buy.
These icing bags are great! I love the box that they come in, it allowes for great organization in cabinets. Do not put melted chocolate in these bags though! It can and will melt them.
I love using Ateco products when decorating! The bags are thick, tear resistant, and easy to fill. Definitely my go to piping bag when decorating.
