Do not buy! This jar is, cheaply, made. First off, the thin 'aluminium' cover doesn't secure on the grooves of its placement, so it falls off and or doesn't ensure closure. In the end, your hand hurts trying to screw the lid into place, especially with the silly, cardboard insulator that is an obstruction. Another issue, the handle that comes with the jar is difficult to attach and leaves scratches on the glass exterior. I bought these for my bar to make extra large drinks in so that people could share a big mixed drink just for fun - they are a total hit! So glad I bought these! Definitely a multipurpose product.

Received the Anchor Hocking 2.5 Gallon Barrel Jar with Brushed Aluminum Lid. It is a nice heavy jar however the opening is so far out of round the lid does not screw on properly. The opening is more of an oval shape.

Sturdy and quality glass made by Anchor, who's been doing this forever, so you know it's a good product. The handle for this 2.5 gallon jar is really easy to assemble when it arrives, and the handle is solid: no chance of it slipping or breaking from the handle/ring. Great for storing a large bulk amount of items. We are using it to make pickles. Affordable and useful!

I overlooked that this jar came with a carrying handle. The wooden handle adds to its nostalgic appeal, and since it doesn’t have a handle on the lid, this attachment makes carrying it much easier.

They are very well made. We use them for storing dry flowers. They have a big opening that makes it easy to get stuff in and out!

We use this for serving iced teas and lemonades. Great size for a picnic. The handle bar is so useful although it can be cumbersome to put it on.

Great product. made in USA which is always a huge plus for me knowing that my customers are not getting foreign chemicals with their drinks. HIGHLY Recommended

This thing is probably a bit larger than I expected. 2.5 gallons is a lot, and as a result will be quite heavy when full. Good quality, the handle is quite secure - something I was initially worried about.

This is a great sized jar. I used it to make Kombucha and it works great. it was the perfect size and the glass is sturdy and heavy enough that I do not have to worry about it breaking easily. Great product

These are great to store items for display or to use for aging items such as limoncello. We use ours for many items and love the larger capacity.

This is a great jar if you don't need a lid for it; the lid doesn't screw on even though it has the threads to do so. The handle I wouldn't trust either, it's very bendable. I'm making homemade Lemmoncello and I have to tape the top just to seal it. I assumed it was a defect and they sent me another jar (free of charge...BTW I REALLY appreciate the level of customer service!) but the same thing...the lid doesn't fit.

These barrel jars are so rustic looking. They are great for storage that is in view on customers. They hold a lot and have a handle to move it easily.

I purchased 2 of these Anchor Hocking 2.5 gallon barrels. I use them for dry good storage.They work good. i will be buying more.Very well made.

this is a very cute jar. it can hold a lot of stuff. it can even hold bagels. it looks good and hold a lot.
