This is an everyday "beater cleaver" that can perform butchery and even chopping duties with ease. I've worked with these for years and, for the price you can't beat it. A lot of people purchase higher quality metals etc but I find most people barley keep these blades up to par.

This was exactly as advertised. It was very sharp out of the packaging. I've used a couple times for vegetables and I love it. I highly recommend for veggies, and thin bones.. not for heavy duty chopping.

This was a shockingly pleasant surprise when we pulled it out. It was brought in for a newbie cook to round out his first knife roll. He felt he needed a cleaver, i didn't think he would use one so we snagged him this. It wound up being his favorite of the bunch. And I don't blame him. The weight on this thing is great! The wooden handle felt better in my hand than some of my knives and it came plenty sharp. While it does not hold an edge well the thing is a breeze to kept sharp...you will just be honing a little more often. I was kinda sad to see this one walk out the door with him when he left.

This knife is big and heavy, which is a good thing when you're cutting all sorts of prep for a busy restaurant day or a large banquet. The knife is inexpensive, so when it wears out, I'll just replace with another one or something similar; you let the knife do most of the work and you just guide it along as you cut stuff up.

The handle is comfortable and sturdy. I've had it for about 6 months and so far it's still very sharp and cuts through any vegetables I've used it on. It's definitely a great deal!

Very sharp knife right out of the box. Wooden handle feels great in your hand. Blade might not be the best for big beef bones but cut through poultry and pork bone with ease.

This cleaver is perfect if you need to break down large products. Easy to keep sharp and it has a nice handle grip. Of course this is all price relative so think to yourself what you need it for.

The Cleaver was much bigger than i thought. I was pleasantly suprised by it's heft and integrity. I first used it to carve up some chicken and the cleaver had no problem cutting through bone. Perhaps one of the best cleavers I have owned.

This 8" chinese cleaver is worth the investment. Why? well because 1. it is cheap in price. 2. its very durable and fits nice in the hand 3. its just heavy enough to take the effort out of breaking bones and fabricating meats. Id have to say, Ive bought a few very expensive knives so far and yes they were worth it, but this cleaver along with a few other knives that i bought from WEBstaurant.com are in my opinion, worth every penny and a great bargain without cutting quality!!!
