It reduces sediments, odors, and chlorine taste, and it also provides scale inhibition media to protect the evaporator plates of an ice machine or the heating coils of a coffee brewer. A built-in bacteria inhibitor reduces up to 99.99% of common water-borne heterotrophic bacteria.
This cartridge set boasts a 162,000 gallon capacity with a 125 PSI maximum pressure requirement. To ensure that small contaminants can't slip through the filter, this cartridge has a micron rating of 0.2 and a flow rate of 15 GPM.
It has a Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) encapsulated cartridge design that allows for fast and easy cartridge change-outs with just a quarter turn. This prevents contamination since you don't have to touch any of the internal filter components.

Something has gone wrong for us with these filters this year, and 3M no longer offers support. We've been using this system since 2017, and had excellent results for most of that time, replacing the filters every 12 months. Starting in May of this year, something changed, and we've needed to replace the filters every 6-7 weeks. At $ a pop, this is a problem! When we called 3M technical support, they explained that 3M no longer manufactures the filters, even though their name remains on the labels. They gave us a number for the new manufacturer, but we've been unable to reach anyone there.

3m water filter was a good purchase. The city water was not very good and once we added in this unit it was beyond impressive as far as quality of taste was. Highly recommend this unit. Better than any water I've ever tasted.
