What is the difference between a disher and an ice cream scoop?
Dishers are designed to control servings of soft foods, such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, or steamed vegetables. Although these are not meant for harder foods, such as ice cream, they are versatile tools that can be used for portion control in both prep and service applications. Ice cream scoops offer the durability necessary to scoop hard, frozen foods, such as ice cream. Both are traditionally sized by the number of scoops per quart that they can produce; however, they may also be sized by the number of ounces they hold. Dishers feature an easy-to-operate thumb press or squeeze-handle design, complete with a quick-release component that ensures no food is unintentionally left behind in the scoop. Ice cream scoops on the other hand, do not feature any movable components.

    I am completely pleased with my purchase this is a really great nonstick ice cream scooper and the number 20 size I like the plastic bottom it has it's not hard like other brands it's a little softer so when you drop it it doesn't break that's really nice

    These work great

    I recently bout this Scoop and it's amazing . the Ice cream does stick to it, and it makes scooping the hard ice cream very easy. It's also very easy to wash. and It last for a long time .

    Very good Ice Cream Scoop but unfortunately you can't put it in the commercial dishwasher machine. I don't know about household but not with the commercial one. Hopefully they will change the material in the future.

    This #20 non stick ice cream scooper is great because the ice cream doesn't stick to the scooper. It can be dipped in hot water to aid in the scooping process.

    We will stick to the stainless steel version of this. Although it was a good scoop the black finish wore off very quickly leaving the scoop looking tacky.

    The 20# non-stick ice cream scoop works well. There are many different sizes available, and they are all easy to use. The finish makes them quite non-stick.

    This ice cream scoop is great and the ice cream doesn't stick. You must not wash this dipper in a dishwasher as the directions state. If you wash it in the dishwasher it will cause it to corrode and in can not longer be used. Hand wash only!

    Always have trouble scooping out ice cream because it would stick to the scooper, so what ends up happening is cracking the cones at times. the Non stick ice cream scooper works wonders.

    For the price, these ice cream scoopers can't be beat. They look nice and professional. We put them in a heated bowl of water in between scoops and they clean off nicely. They conduct heat but not so bad that you get burned when you're scooping.

    The non-stick coating comes off after only a few washes, but otherwise this scoop works fine. While I wouldn\'t use this for catering, for the money its not a bad purchase.
