Customer Q&A Ask a Question

What's the difference between a riveted and a welded handle?
A riveted handle is connected by small metal pieces (called rivets) that are crushed between the handle and the pan body to attach them together. This type of handle is more common on copper and aluminum cookware.

For a handle to be welded, the metal must first be melted and then adhered to the pan body. This creates a strong bond that leaves little to no space in between, so bacteria and other food crumbs can’t collect and cause sanitation issues. Both are long lasting solutions for fry and sauce pan handles because they are durable and can withstand heat.

pan handle popcorn bottom heat gloves nicely permits pops pots

Stainless steel pots are just wonderful, they heat oh so well and these are nicely priced and have nice craftsmanship. I will be back to buy more from this brand,

We purchased this pan for the specific purpose of making popcorn on our electric glass cooktop. It is nearly perfect for this. The depth permits us to make pop up to a cup of kernels at a time without fear of overflow. The heavy aluminum disk on the bottom insures even heat at the temps required for popping corn, without warping. We have found that it works best at a medium high setting. The lid has enough give in its fit to permit steam to escape, and you can adjust it so the steam is not coming out onto you as you shake the pan. However, we recommend using at least a hot pad. The smooth bottom does not scratch our cooktop surface, and it glides smoothly and easily back and forth. We use coconut oil without the coconut taste. The popcorn pops very well, with few grannies. The clean up has been a dream. With another oil, it might be a bit more difficult. So far, we have not used this pan for anything but popcorn, but judging from its performance for that, it is probably a satisfactory pan for other larger saucepan uses. The only drawback is that it really does need a helper handle. The placement of the handle is such that it is quite difficult to tip the pan holding only onto the handle to get things out of it. The weight makes the pan keep tipping back to upright, especially if you are not using a non-slip potholder or glove. It was even difficult and awkward to wash and rinse, getting the water to pour out in the sink, because of this. With the last batch of popcorn, I had to use a potholder in my other hand to hold the bottom of the pan to empty it. So I have bought a pair of non-slip heat resistant gloves. But they won't work for washing. I'm sure this is made for food service usage, where sinks are probably big enough that this isn't so much of a problem. But for a normal kitchen double sink, it really is. Would I buy it again? Probably, but only because it is the only one of its size and shape I could find with the long handle and metal lid and aluminum disk just right for making popcorn, and the price was good. But to be ideal, I really wish it had the helper handle. FYI the handle is soldered not riveted, and the pan is substantial and heavy, so I hope the solders hold well.

This pot is great for induction cook tops. I have found this line is a great way to get stainless steel at half the price and a good quality. Beware of the imitators of this line their interior sides aren't smooth which will discolor & harbor food residue.
