If you need a reliable supply of ice but have limited space, this Scotsman undercounter flake ice machine is a great choice! This machine provides a 24-hour yield of 440 lb. of soft, flake ice. It can store up to 80 lb. of ice at a time in the built-in ice bin with a convenient sliding access door. Plus, it comes with an ice scoop to easily retrieve ice. At only 24" wide, this unit will fit in nearly any space. It operates using a self-contained, air-cooled condenser, and it is front-breathing for flexible installation. It can be paired with a floor mount kit (sold separately) for installation under 34" ADA countertops.
This unit produces flake ice rather than solid cubes. Due to its shape and size, flake ice easily conforms to the shape of any container to surround food and beverages! It also chills more quickly than other ice forms, making it an excellent choice for cooling foods at seafood counters, produce displays, and salad bars. Its soft and easy to chew texture is also great for healthcare settings.
This compact unit is easy to operate with an intuitive control panel. It has a greaseless bearing and stainless steel evaporator for maximum durability and reduced maintenance. The external air filter is easily accessible from the front of the machine to simplify cleaning. This unit comes with 6" adjustable legs. It includes a unit-specific QR code that instantly connects users to warranty and service information. It runs on R-290 refrigerant and requires a 115V electrical connection for operation. I haven’t heard of R-290, R-600a, R-513a, or R-448A refrigerant before. What is it?
R-290 (also known as high purity propane or CARE 40) and R-600a (also known as refrigerant grade Isobutane or CARE 10) are hydrocarbon refrigerants. R513a (also known as Opteon XP10) and R-448A (also known as Solstice N40) are HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerants. They are being used by some manufacturers in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program.
My ice machine has been shut down for awhile, how should I restart it?
If your ice machine has been shut down or not in use for a prolonged period time, please reference your machine's user-manual for a restart procedure, often called “Winterization." Please reference your user manual or contact customer service with any questions.
Should I buy an air-cooled or water-cooled ice machine?
Air-cooled ice machines are the most common choice. They're more energy-efficient and use much less water than a water-cooled model. Unless you are replacing an existing water-cooled unit or are operating under very high ambient temperatures, you probably will want an air-cooled unit.
