Polycarbonate ice totes offer the highest durability, rigidity, and level of transparency for monitoring ice levels. They are generally more costly than polypropylene and polyethylene options but will last the longest. Most polypropylene ice totes are BPA free. They are partially transparent, offering limited visibility to ice levels. These totes tend to show dirt easier than polycarbonate totes and are not as durable. Most polyethylene ice totes are also BPA free. Polyethylene is generally more flexible and less rigid than polypropylene and polycarbonate. Polyethylene totes provide no transparency for monitoring ice levels.
