People Talk About:mitts oven gloves 550 great heat hot 550F cheaper degrees
I have tried a lot of oven mitts. These are the ones I finally feel comfortable with. Many other less expensive mitts lose their effectiveness after washing a few times. The inside lining is smooth and does not pill. They stay in great shape even after going through the commercial laundry service. They don't lose their ability to withstand heat and they don't deteriorate. We have some other San Jamar gloves made with different materials and these are much better. They are not cheap and that price is for EACH GLOVE, but they last much longer. I have had to throw away cheaper gloves after getting burned as they broke down. When you add up that cost, these are not so expensive after all. Ordering 2 more right now.

Probably the best oven mitt I have ever used. I use it to tend to my grill and move hot racks/baking stone in the oven when needed. No burns even after holding a 550F heated baking stone for 10 seconds. Will be buying another one so I have a pair of them.

The single glove is very thick. Seems to work great as an oven mit. However, I purchased it to handle cooking in my wood burning brick oven. After grabbing a cast iron pan in a 550-600 degree oven I can say it works but for a short time. You won't hold it long.

These mitts might look a bit expensive, but they're worth it for the durability and heat resistance. I've had these for six months, and they are still holding up good. We have to replace most mitts every one to two months because of holes between the thumb and forefinger. They won't disappoint.

WOW! Simple put these are the BEST MITTS EVER. Yes they cost alot and thats the price for ONE(i only bought really because i had a bit of credit for reviewing) but the heat blocking and durability on them is absolutely superb i don't even know where to begin. To give an example i recently became obsessed with pizza making which part of it involves heating A 3/8" sheet of steel in the oven to 550-600 degrees on the top shelf putting pizza on it and pulling it off sometimes with the broiler on. My hands NEVER even got hot!!! after i finished backing the pizzas, i grabbed this still hot piece of steel ~550 oF and carried it outside to cool like 30sec-1min and then they got warm but i could still hold on. Im sold these things are great and i think they are the same ones cooking shows recommend but just a different name. If you can afford it these are the way to go!
