1.25 oz. tequila
3 oz. orange juice
Ice
1 oz. Rose's grenadine syrup
Fresh orange slices and maraschino cherries, to garnish
1. Pour tequila, orange juice, and ice into a cocktail mixing glass.
2. Stir to combine, then strain into a highball glass, hurricane glass, or collins glass filled with ice.
3. Pour the grenadine syrup in a steady stream into the center of the cocktail, then allow to settle.
4. Gently stir to combine, then garnish with a fresh orange slice and a maraschino cherry. Serve chilled.

Rose's beginnings date back to 1867 when Lauchlin Rose patented his process of preserving lime juice without using rum, which happened to be the same year that the 1867 Merchant Shipping Act, a law that required British sailors be provided lime to protect them from scurvy, was passed.
