Its smooth bi-directional operation reads from either direction to produce a high success rate with every swipe. The plug and play USB interface is easy to connect to your computing device. Two screw holes at the bottom of the unit make it easy to secure in place. For less permanent application, the included hook and loop strap can be used to secure it as well.
