These do have a fairly wide ink path. It is not a fine line. I think these are some of the wider ink pens I have used. I write fairly large, so it's not really a problem. If you write tiny though it could become an issue. They are comfortable to hold, and at this price, I can stash them in different notebooks or even loose a few and it's no big deal.

To be honest I like the V7 series better in terms of actually end product but those tips tend to bend and break. The v5 is only slightly less accurate but in terms of durability and erognomics, it can't be beaten.
