Owning a grilled cheese food truck, I am always looking for ways to speed up the line. This Nemsco butter spreader really did the trick. Nicknamed “ The Butter Maker” on our truck, was a real workhorse, right up until it wasn’t. It is a great little appliance, holds almost a pound of butter at a time, but it has some flaws. The lid is designed to go over the cord at the back, which rubs against the cord. After almost 3 years of use, the lid has cut into the cord and severed it completely from the unit. This of course did not come without excitement! There were was a great showing of sparks and smoke to go along with it creating quite a show. Alas, I am without a “butter maker” and I am ordering another one. This time however I will alter the lid to protect the cord so it will last a bit longer.

I'm fairly heart broken. Such a simple and efficient kitchen tool, a favorite gadget for our busy kitchen......just quit heating. The cord appears to be intact but it just gave up the ghost. I have to order a replacement because it is an awesome tool. I did have it for three years, although i can't see any reason why it should have quit working. I'm disappointed, but I don't see any better option.
