I really wish I would have read the customer reviews, along with the ingredient list. Simple syrup is supposed to be cane sugar and water. That's it. That's why it's called simple syrup; It's simple.
It's deceptive because it says "cane sugar" but looking closer it says "flavor" . It's HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYEUP. I decided to give it a whirl since I can't return the case I bought (4 gallons!), and I have had the worst stomach pains and indigestion. I tried stopping and my stomach got much better, decided to try again to see if it really was that and not something else. Exact same symptoms immediately after putting it in my coffee. The stuff should be banned by the FDA. Of course I can't return it now, so I'm just going to have to dump it down the sink. Hope this saves someone from making the same poor decision as I did. This has taught me a very painful, yet valuable lesson.
