It features both an extended range mode and a dual capacity direct mode to enhance communication efficiency and coverage.

This radio features a loudness of up to 101 phons. It has acoustic feedback suppression to prevent unwanted squealing and received audio leveling to continually normalize audio levels. It offers user-selectable audio profiles, allowing individual users to customize and save their audio preferences. This radio includes a home channel reminder feature to alert users to return to their primary channel and a voice announcement feature to audibly convey information about the radio's settings.
