When in digital mode, it offers up to a 35% longer talk time, double the calling capacity, wider radio coverage, and clearer audio with reduced static and background noise. It features 16 channels and a VHF frequency range of 136 to 174 MHz. Plus, it includes a VHF heliflex antenna to improve its signal strength and range.

This radio features 2 programmable side buttons to easily access your favorite features. This allows you to program from a wide variety of functions such as channel scan, nuisance channel delete, and squelch. It features a simple push-to-talk (PTT) button on the side for easy communication. It also has VOX to automatically activate when detecting your voice, enabling hands-free use. It uses simple knobs to easily change the channel, adjust the volume, and power it on and off. Its adjustable power level can be used to conserve battery life.

This radio has a variety of features exclusive to digital mode. Its dual capacity direct mode allows two simultaneous conversations on a single channel, effectively doubling your channel capacity without the cost of a repeater. It also has a transmit interrupt mode to interrupt an ongoing transmission to deliver a higher-priority message. It has voice announcement to announce the current channel, mode, or other settings, and it meets DMR standards for interoperability and reliable communication.

This radio features an LED indicator light to determine the operational status at a glance. It can also be upgraded to have digital capabilities with a simple software upgrade (sold separately). It is compact with a 2" belt clip for easy portability. This unit is IP54 rated and meets MIL-STD 810 requirements to withstand dust, water, vibration, shocks, and extreme temperatures. It operates using a 1,700 mAh lithium-ion battery, which is easily rechargeable using the included 90-minute, rapid-rate charger.
