I was stoked to find this ice cream rock salt and at such a great price at that. While this does indeed make great icecream, my husband is a Brazilian bbq master, and he insists that the only way to salt meat is with rock salt or "sal grosso" in Portugese. They don't 'believe in' doing rubs. They do a thick layer of salt on the steak prior to cooking, then scrape it all off after cooking, so the salt is never consumed, and wouldn't be tasty if it was, given its course texture.
