Metro 9986Z Aluminum Split Sleeves with Zinc Rings - 4/Pack

Purchased these because I thought I would build my shelving unit stronger with these instead of the regular plastic ones. I've put together a few different wire shelving units, all with the plastic sleeves and not had a problem. Since I was building a new one using Regency posts and shelves, I figured I would set it up once and never worry about it again. The problem is that I don't think these Metro sleeves are exactly compatible with the Regency shelves. I tried a few on these and could not get them to work. Would not snap on to the Regency post and stay put, even with the retaining ring in place. Had them slide down inside and stay with the shelf and was a real beast to get loose. I was able to snap them on to unit from a different company. The posts on that unit are a little larger diameter. I did like how they looked and worked. I assume that the Metro posts are a slightly larger diameter than the Regency posts, and would work fine.

Very sturdy sleeves that make a good alternative to the black plastic ones. Though Ive never had a problem with the plastic ones cracking they do sometimes slide. The zinc rings do a great job of locking it in place.

These allowed me to fall back in love with Metro Shelving. I have always hated how the shelves would slip down the rails over time. This completely eliminated that problem.
