Its made of a lightweight aluminum which barely can stand up to dough production. 3 of these have snapped in 2019 alone. Too bad because Hobart normally makes a high quality product. This is the third hook I've bought in little over a year. It snaps at base and is poorly made for a Hobart product. Also overpriced!

Hooks snaps and cracks off in six months or less. On our third one in a year and half. Hobart should be ashamed of their cheapened mixers and dough hooks post COVID.
