How To Clean the Hatco Intelligent Toast-Qwik Conveyor Toaster

How To Clean the Hatco Intelligent Toast-Qwik Conveyor Toaster

Hatco’s Intelligent Toast-Qwik toaster should be cleaned daily to avoid malfunctions, maintain a sanitary operation, and to preserve the finish. Daily cleaning involves four areas: conveyor chain, crumb trays and toast chute, exterior surfaces, product sensors and sensor reflectors. Monthly or as needed cleaning involves two areas: the bottom element reflector and fan filter. Remember, during all cleaning procedures, never immerse the unit in water. Perform the daily shutdown procedure as shown in the operation section of the ITQ installation and operating manual. This can be downloaded from the Hatco website at www.hatcocorp.com. Next, unplug the power cord. The toaster must be cooled down before you start. Remember to never put soap directly on the conveyor chain. To clean, manually move the chain a section at a time. Apply mild soap to a soft cloth and wipe the chain. For heavy buildup, use a scrub pad on the conveyor. Finally, use a soft cloth dampened with water to rinse the conveyor chain. Remember, the toaster must be cooled down before you start. Remove and empty the crumb trays and toast chute. Wash all with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse with water. Allow the crumb trays and toast chute to air dry. Reinstall the crumb trays and toast chute. Refer to the ITQ installation and operating manual for instructions. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the toaster with a non-abrasive damp cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a good stainless steel cleaner or a non-abrasive cleaner. Hard-to-reach areas should be cleaned with a small brush and mild soap. Never clean sensor covers or sensor reflectors with abrasive pads or cleaners. Clean and polish the product sensors and sensor reflectors using a mild degreaser and soft, non-abrasive cloth. Sensor reflectors are present on dual conveyor units only. The bottom element reflector inside the toasting chamber has slots that allow bread crumbs to drop through to the crumb tray. Over an extended period of use, bread crumbs may build up on the reflector and not drop through onto the tray. Here’s how to clean it. Perform the daily shutdown procedure as shown in the operation section of the ITQ installation and operating manual, and unplug the power cord. Make sure the toaster is turned off and completely cooled before you start. Wipe the crumbs onto the crumb tray using a bristle brush. Place the bristle brush through the conveyor belt and wipe to each side. Be sure to remove any bristles left behind in the toasting chamber. Finally, perform the daily cleaning procedures shown previously in this video. Two cooling fan filters are located on the bottom left side of the unit. These filters should be checked or cleaned monthly or anytime the warning light comes on. Use the following procedures to clean the filters. Make sure the toaster is turned off and cooled down before you proceed. Perform the daily shutdown procedure as shown in the operation section of the ITQ installation and operating manual, and unplug the power cord. Slide filters out of the filter housing on the bottom of the unit. Rinse the filters using hot water. Allow them to air dry completely. Slide the filters back into the filter housing. Make sure each filter slides above the filter support on each side of the housings. This concludes the training video. Hatco Intelligent Toast-Qwik Conveyor Toasters

Just how smart is your toaster? Hatco’s intelligent Toast-Qwik toasters are so smart they’ve graduated first in their class. The ability to quickly change from one food to another, rapid toasting, product sensors, and many more programming choices, make the ITQ toasters the smartest around. With the touch of a button, you can change the programming from toast to bagels to hash browns to melted cheese to English muffins and much more! You can even create your own unique programs. The intelligent Toast-Qwik conveyor operates in four modes. In the continuous throughput mode, ITC works like a standard conveyor toaster. The patented color guard sensing system monitors and automatically adjusts conveyor speed and chamber temperature to ensure toast color uniformity. The dual model is exceptional for its ability to program the conveyors for two different products like toast and bagels as seen here. In single product mode, a single product is toasted, and then the conveyor stops. The ITQ’s ability to produce a wide variety of menu items is the result of individually controlled top and bottom heating elements, a multi-speed, two-directional conveyor belt, and optical product sensors. In and out mode consists of the product being drawn into the chamber, pausing for a programmed amount of time, then backing out. It’s perfect for melting cheese on top of appetizers and mini pizzas. In pause and continuous throughput involves the product being drawn into the chamber, pausing for a programmed amount of time, and then continuing through. Programming the Intelligent Toast-Qwik toaster is easy, breezy, a snap to do! The USB port allows for easy transfer of information, such as program changes, creating your own unique program, and product usage information. Turn on the toaster and wait ten seconds for the internal diagnostics to run. Press and hold the power button for three seconds to activate the toaster. Preheat will be displayed along with a temperature countdown of about five minutes. Select the program key for desired menu item. Place food between the product sensors. Using Hatco’s unique spot on technology, the toaster senses when product is placed on the conveyor and activates the unit. Change the toasting shade at any time by touching the lighter and darker keys, up to five times each. Change the menu item at any time with the touch of a button, up to 18 customizable settings in all. With Hatco intelligent Toast-Qwik toasters, the future is here! Accelerate, enhance, and achieve the perfectly toasted product. The greatest thing since sliced bread!

Hatco Intelligent Toast-Qwik Toaster: How to Program

How to program your Hatco ITQ toaster. Before you get started, locate the serial number or software version of your toaster. The serial number is found on the back next to the plug. The software version is located on the touch-pad display under the logo. All programming steps are mobile-friendly. On the Hatco homepage underneath the resources tab, select “program your toaster” which will bring you to the “program your menu” homepage. For reference, please note at the top of each page there are links to home screen, the product manual, and help text. Click on the “check version” to see if there are any software updates needed. Enter the serial number or software version of your toaster. Because an outdated software version was entered, the prompt tells us to program a new menu which will upgrade the software. If desired, please make a record of your current toaster settings if you want to reenter them. When a green-light prompt appears, it indicates your software is up to date. Next, select “program menu” to create the new menu for your toaster. Enter any one of the three pieces of information about your toaster: software version, serial number, or number of conveyors. Now, you can start programming. The current menu is the default factory settings. All parameters for each item are editable: the belt time, top heat applied, and the percentage of bottom heat applied. Select whether you want a forward, continuous operation, and in and in, or an in and out. The product length can also be adjusted. Items can be arranged by dragging them into the desire order on your toasters touch pad. To delete an item, select the name. Then, click on the blank space. To add a new item, click on the name space and select your item or create and name a custom item. Adjust any of the settings as needed. On the bottom of the page is a preview button. A sample menu will be generated showing how the menu will look on the ITQ toaster touch pad. Notice the new item and the new arrangement we just created are at the top of the menu. When done, select “generate menu file” to create your software revision. Enter your email address to send the just-completed program to your email or download it directly onto your computer. Finally, transfer the electronic file onto a flash drive. Plug it into the USB port on your ITQ toaster and follow the updating software instructions in the ITQ product manual.

Customer questions about this product

Does the conveyor on the toast-qwik series toaster need to be lubricated?
No. You do not need to lubricate the conveyor on this unit.
What is ColorGuard?
The Hatco Toast-Qwik conveyor toasters include a control system referred to as ColorGuard. This system ensures consistent coloring on entire batches of toast.
What kind of bread should I use with my toast-qwik conveyor toaster?
You can use a variety of bread products, from bagels to flatbread. We recommend using day-old products that have thoroughly dried out, as they toast more efficiently than fresh bread. Coated products do not toast well.
Ask your own question!

Toast bread slices, bagel halves, and other popular cafe foods with the Hatco ITQ-1000-1C Intelligent Toast-Qwik conveyor toaster! This conveyor toaster features four operating modes that let you toast a product to a customer's exact taste. The programmable touch-pad controls are easy to use and let you make quick adjustments to cooking times, and the internal memory can hold up to 18 product settings at a time.

The built-in Spot-On technology senses when a product is placed on the conveyor and automatically activates the set toast cycle, and the ColorGuard sensing system monitors and adjusts conveyor speed and temperature to toast food consistently. For energy efficiency, a power saver mode automatically kicks on after a set amount of time, and for programming convenience, this unit comes with a USB port.

The cool touch sides and back panel resist heat during use, and the bottom return ramp is hardcoated so food won't stick after it's toasted. And thanks to the removable crumb tray and collector ramp, cleaning this unit is a breeze.
