I hadn't tried elderflower as a flavoring before, and got this to try it out. The flavor is mostly just citrusy, not flowery, but it works nicely as a replacement for sugar in lemon sorbet. This syrup isn't watery the way Finest Call's cherry and Triple Sec syrups are.
I’ve made one drink so far that called for elderflower syrup. Wasn’t my favorite, yet I’m not a bartender either. I’m not quite ready to give up on it yet. I will try it again in another recipe. The recipe was for a winter white cosmo. Not familiar with all types of elderflower but the recipe was for Germaine elderflower. I used this and it was not right. Again, it could just be me.
